Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Retribution Coming First to PlayStation 4 on September 12

Activision has unveiled the first official details of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Retribution developed by Infinity Ward, the fourth DLC Map Pack for 2016’s No. 1 top-selling console video game in the U.S. (excluding hardware bundle sales), Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The map pack features four new, epic multiplayer maps, and the final Infinite Warfare zombies co-op experience called The Beast from Beyond, set in an abandoned military base on a distant ice planet. Retribution is scheduled to release September 12, first on the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 4, with other platforms to follow.

“Our team has had so much fun this year creating content for the Infinite Warfare community,” said Dave Stohl, Studio Head of Infinity Ward. “So with Retribution, it’s the culmination of our thrilling zombies storyline, where players will head to a new setting with tons of surprises, and find out what evil force has been pulling the strings all along. For multiplayer fans, we’re delivering four new maps that really showcase combat rig abilities and great gameplay. September 12 can’t come soon enough.”

The Beast from Beyond, the final chapter of the five-part Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare zombies experience, features the return of Willard Wyler, the enigmatic movie director villain portrayed with voice and likeness by Paul Reubens (Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, Gotham). Wyler once again has trapped the four protagonists inside an all-new horror film, now set in a desolate military station on a distant ice planet. As players begin to discover more and more infected crew members, they’ll need to battle hordes of the undead to uncover the truth and escape Wyler’s films once and for all. The Beast from Beyond also features new weapons, traps and more, in addition to the hallmark Call of Duty action, with Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Austin Powers) as “Poindexter;” Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors, Suicide Squad) as “AJ;” Jay Pharoah (White Famous, Saturday Night Live) as “Andre;” and Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live, Inside Amy Schumer) as “Sally,” all making a return from the ongoing story.

In addition to The Beast from Beyond, Retribution will also include four new multiplayer maps:

  • Carnage – A post-apocalyptic race track along the California coast, Carnage features long sight lines and environmental hazards including a fire trap players can activate on command to roast their enemies.
  • Heartland – In Heartland, teams will go head-to-head in a simulation of small town America that is a re-imagining of the classic Call of Duty: Ghosts map, Warhawk. Players can pop into the local ice cream shop for a treat, and then take out enemies down the street with a Black Hole Generator.
  • Altitude – Set in a high-end, sky high shopping mall located on the edges of the universe, Altitude pushes teams around a chaotic center where quick flank routes are key to victory. Additional features include floating lush waterfalls that border the map.
  • Depot 22 – Depot 22 is a watering hole at the end of civilization that focuses on mid-ranged encounters waged in a medium-sized, three-lane map. Players can battle in the cantina for close-quarter combat or engage with enemies wall-running off of a moving train.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Retribution releases on September 12, 2017 first for the PlayStation 4, with other platforms to follow. The game is rated M for Mature (Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes). For more information, please visit www.callofduty.com. JUICING UP THE KART RACER GENRE: ALL-STAR FRUIT RACING FLIES OFF THE STARTING LINE ON STEAM EARLY ACCESS

Leading Italian indie developer and animation studio 3DClouds is excited to announce today that they’re juicing up the kart racer genre to its limits with the release of All-Star Fruit Racing on Steam for Windows PC. Still fresh from wowing crowds at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany last month, All-Star Fruit Racing seats players behind the wheel of a speedy kart in the midst of a fruit-fueled fiesta, charging through scores of expertly crafted tracks with power-ups aplenty designed to cause magnificent macerated mayhem. Blue skies and cherry pie — get ready for a fast drive with All-Star Fruit Racing available now on Steam Early Access!

All-Star Fruit Racing employs a unique power-up system unlike other games in the genre, adding a sense of strategy to the carnage on the track. Dubbed “The Juicer,” each kart sports four separate tanks designed to be filled by the power-packed fruit players pick up on track, enabling them to both combine moves and — when all the tanks are full — unlock a unique “Mega Juice” power-up! Players are also given the opportunity to fully customize the look and feel of their characters so they can create their own unique and iconic drivers.

“The Juicer is just one way we’ve looked to bring something different to the karting genre,” said Francesco Bruschi, CEO and Founder of 3DClouds. “There have been some huge kart games over the decades, but there’s no point in following someone else’s path. All-Star Fruit Racing is designed to offer something different, and its run on Early Access should give us the feedback we need to make it an even better game.”

All-Star Fruit Racing includes both single player and multiplayer modes, local split screen with four players, online multiplayer (coming this fall) and an incredible roster of 22 characters to unlock — 11 of which are available from the start of Early Access. Players can challenge themselves today in two different modes, Juicer mode and Classic mode. Additional modes Dragster, Elimination and Elimination Mix will be added later. The easy level of all racing formats (Custom Race, Career, Fast Championship, Custom Championship and Time Attack) are available now, with medium and harder difficulty levels being added soon as well.

Five islands play host to 21 different tracks to ensure players have plenty of challenges to take on as they fight to be the juiciest racer on track. The first two islands, Winter and Summer, are available for play starting today. Another two islands will be unlocked while playing the game; the last island will be released in the coming months.

All-Star Fruit Racing is available on Steam Early Access now (Steam) for $14.99. The full game will be available for $19.99 later this fall.

Rock Band VR Now Available

$70 Rock Band VR Guitar Controller Bundle Available
While Supplies Last

If Rock Band VR’s classic mode is about the pursuit of a note-perfect studio recording, Rock Band VR’s performance mode, illustrated in the above gameplay video, represents the creative freedom of a live concert where no two performances sound exactly the same. In this mode, players experiment with different chords, notes and strum speeds to develop their signature sound and make each performance their own. It’s a completely new kind of music gameplay, it’s perfectly suited to VR, and it’s unlike anything else Harmonix has ever created.

Underpinning the gameplay is an amazing sense of presence you can only get in VR. From the moment the player takes the stage, they’ll experience what it’s like to perform in front of sold out crowds – sweaty palms and all. To deliver this fantasy, Rock Band VR focused on the details – from working effects pedals to interacting with your bandmates to the ability to use your guitar to bang on the drummer’s hi-hat cymbal. It’s an incredibly immersive experience.

While the gameplay may have changed, scoring and leaderboards remain as central to the Rock Band experience as ever. Players will need to develop a mastery of Rock Band VR’s new gameplay mechanics if they want to claim a top spot. Chaining together chords and notes into musical phrases and combos will earn players points, while timely deployment of overdrive and signature rock moves, like head banging in time to the music, will trigger multipliers to boost scores even further, earning more stars. It’s a deep, complex system that rewards both technical proficiency and creativity.

Traditional Rock Band gameplay will have its own dedicated leaderboard at launch in Classic Mode.

Campaign
Rock Band VR features the first scripted narrative campaign to appear in a Rock Band game. As the new guitarist for the band Autoblaster, you’ll be right in the middle of your band’s journey from playing dirty local bars to decadent theaters.
